Since I am rather ripped and tired at the moment, I'll just leave a littla summary from another site I wrote:

Dedicated to a dead Yamaha PSS 360, presumably killed in action during the years of sessions presented here. Minimal synthetics from the era or so after the genre's retroactive creation. The slab of clear pink pseudomarble plastic runs an atypical gamut of synthpop and punk to experimental collage to minimalist experimentation, mostly in French.

Yeah, that about settles it. Anyway, I did a little double feature for this one. One download contains the original rip, and the other holds a treated copy with ClickRepair. I personally feel that CR messed with some of the synthtones, but what do I know, no? Also, they're both in FLAC, for the audiofiles out there.

Paraquat - Mir

This was a hard one to track down, apparently there have been quite a few groups/projects/duos/trios/quintets to christen themselves/f as either Mir or Paraquat. It took some intrepid archive trawling to find that this is the solo project of a member of the (equally hard to find) band Churn, Bil (sic?) Hooper. According to the label attached to the sleeve and seen above for your convenience, this is a part of an ambitious series of records that I and most of the internet have never heard of. In fact, it's so obscure, that the sharpied in description on the dust  cover thought it was German due to the deutschemarks on the glued printerpaper on frontispiece.

Anyway, this is best boiled down to being some kind of post-rock experimentation in collage, field recording, and droning ambiance. Although, that just sounds like any other post-rock album from the late 90s and early oughts. Oh well.

Zuppa Di Pesce - Colazione

Strange tidings from a different sea. Changes of eye/ear level abound in this circus cavalcade of fine dining (Italian) errors. Itoken is a guy who has been involved in a lot of music of which I quite enjoy, whether in the phenomenal Harpy or the beautiful musings of Win A Sheep Free (Both of these bands along with Itoken's solo works appear in the soundtrack of Mecha game Phantom Crash, oddly enough) and with Toshokan, which may come soon on this very blog.

Listening to Itoken's music, one can place his sound down pretty well. Using toy instruments, especially percussive ones, to create unique avantpop pieces, not unlike fellow toypopper Klimperei. Zuppa di Pesce is slightly different, however, as shown by the previous post showcasing this wondrous group. The sound here goes for more of a synthetic brass-band sonic injection, as opposed to the sparse arrangements found on his other projects. Still great, though. Those illustrations alone are worth the price of admission.

Dino Martini - Ferien

Come and see the oft-not-witnessed phi-phenomenom known as the EP Comp. A small collection of treats for the listener to sink their aural rotten yellows into, in and then out in a matter of seconds. Even if I don't understand the lyrics, I know good musics when I hear them, a musikal language all on its own.

Spastic synths and nice melodies permeate this petit mort of a wreckord, recommended for anyone who enjoys the arrangement of cacophony.
