Max Goldt - L'Église Des Crocodiles

Label : Gagarin Records - GR2024
Year : 1983 (2011 RE)
Country : Germany
Format : LP

Ramblings that go in and out of chipmunk speak, with some strange minimal backing for good measure. Real kitchen sink of an instrumentation which breathes some organic air for a field sometimes so lacking in it.

A favorite DIY artist of mine.

XX Century Zorro - La Volpe Du XX Siècle

Label : Old Europa Cafe - OECD 140
Country : Italy
Year : 2011 (1983 orig)
Format : CD
Not to blaspheme the blasphemers, but in the face of the revolutionary MonSter sound system I have shirked the original intentions by doubling the tracks on each channel into one for every song. In its original form, the album has different tracks going on at the same time in the stereo space, perfect for equalizers... But I intend to give it a bit more accessibility if at all.

Warped cabaret tunes and postpunk industrialism in a collage of madness.

Shep and Me - Nasturtium Inertia

Label : Dear Skull - DS-011
Country : US
Year : 2011
Format : LP
Here's another album for you guys, with the same folk flavor as the last. Truth being, this is free/avant folk in a more Charlie A. McAlister way than a Jackie-O Motherfucker tinge like the last one. Small scale and lowfi ambient pieces abound.
This is a remastered reissue of a 2009 tape. This rerelease is of the odd assortment: it is abridged and yet it is obliged. What I mean by that is that two tracks from the original tape release are redacted in favor of two new ones. Good tidings, a worthy reason to download this one if you happen to have the original. This records packaging is something interesting, too. The sleeve itself is encased in what I can only describe as faux-hardwood flooring texture, and that itself is covered by the album sleeve. Tough nut to crack.

Fiendish Fib - Down In The Mine

Label : Treue Um Treue - TUT017
Year : 2011
Country : Germany
Format : LP

Since I am rather ripped and tired at the moment, I'll just leave a littla summary from another site I wrote:
Dedicated to a dead Yamaha PSS 360, presumably killed in action during the years of sessions presented here. Minimal synthetics from the era or so after the genre's retroactive creation. The slab of clear pink pseudomarble plastic runs an atypical gamut of synthpop and punk to experimental collage to minimalist experimentation, mostly in French.
Yeah, that about settles it. Anyway, I did a little double feature for this one. One download contains the original rip, and the other holds a treated copy with ClickRepair. I personally feel that CR messed with some of the synthtones, but what do I know, no? Also, they're both in FLAC, for the audiofiles out there.

Fuck Telecorps - Hard On/Off Hearong

Label : Mind Skull - 002
Year : 2011
Country : US
Format : C30

Telecorps in the collective unconscious is an unfamiliar entity to most, even in sub-underground communities such as that of the noise/free improv/sqwak collectives of the internet. A local group relative to me in Pittsburgh, Telecorps (sometimes known as "Fuck Telecorps") is a noize project utilizing whatever they can get a hold of to create a sound like any other noize project. They are probably best known for being featured on the seminal (?) noise compilation Noise War first released by the equally seminal (??) noise terrorism unit Mother Savage Noise Productions.

These days, Telecorps are still at it. This is a tape from RSD 2011 recorded live at the record store it was sold from, Mind Cure Records (now Cruel Noise Records). Mind Cure also operated as a record label, putting out this tape in collaboration with Dear Skull Records (who also pressed another record featured here).

Jaki Jakizawa - Can You Feel The Juices?

Label : Milvia Son Records - MS006
Country : US
Year : 2011
Format : LP
Gross, or a synonym thereof, is often used when describing this album. It's easy to see why, just look at the greasy mug on the cover and the title of the A-side. Or the goddamned title: it's a very unsettling question. Yes, this album is pretty gross, as in disgusting, grotesque, or any other sense of the word before the co-opting of the term by network dwelling sycophants. But the music itself is not as deplorable as the packaging makes it out to be. The top flip side "Period Blood" would bring to mind some goregrind style juvenilia, but it really is, as Music for Maniacs describes it, "like Giorgio Moroder goes free jazz". The bottom side of the slab is the kicker here: "Eros in Neon". A kraut-synth juggernaught, beautifully developing a simple line throughout it's ~16 minute runtime. Reminds me of lucid produce and such as that.
