DJ Ordeal (partial discog)

Everso enigmatic, he is. DJ Ordeal is/what/was an English plunderphonics and collage musician who may or may not also be a disk-jockey. His stuff is usually cut from the cloth of Stock, Hausen, and Walkman and, to a lesser extent, Tipsy. That is, he relies on EZ-listening and Lounge and Light Muzak for his musical voyages. Vocal samples also play somewhat of a prominent role, depending on the wreckord inflicted upon you.

The musics found below this line of breakage was provided to me by the great sonofanastronaut, check him out.

Label : Johnny Kane Records - KANE 007
Year : 2001
Country : UK
Format : 7 inch

First, chronologically speaking, in this collection is this EP released on Johnny Kane in '01. This is a more abrasive release from this dude compared to his other material (of what I've heard). Probably the best of the crop in my opinion.

Label : Sparticus Stargazer - Sparty 003
Year : 2002
Country : UK
Format : 7 inch

Here's the standard fare of what is known. Mangled lounge and appropriated vox and strings.
Nice cover, to boot!

Format : LP

I find this to be a bit eerie, all things considered. Isolated easy-listening made difficult, reminds me a bit of what Kirby, Leyland has been doing or was doing at the time. This is a very mini-album, about 16 minutes of your time in instrumental bliss.

Label : Sparticus Stargazer - Sparty 004
Year : 2004
Country : UK
Format : 7 inch

'Nother classic feelin' thing. Perfect name for it, jazz romps about the jumbled sampled decollage. Defining sound.

Another one for the batch! Here's more of Ordeal's usual pomp and circumstance, short n sweet.
Zip also includes some missing pieces from the "Trip With Me!" booklet down below... Check it out!

Label : Push The Button Records - PTB07
Year : 2005
Country : Sweden
Format : CDr

Label : Asparagus Audio
Year : 2008
Country : UK
Format : LP

Admittedly, I haven't heard these last two just yet. From what I can gather, they're collections of the odds and ends (or evens and beginnings) of the DJ Ordeal oeuvre. I'll report back maybe sometime.

That's about does it for now. If anyone has some more Ordeals they'd like me to sort out or if I happen upon some more, I'll bring it all back home. Also, the links are in the title if I didn't make it obvious enough, OK.
