Shrinkwrap - Fear, Loathing & Admiration

Label : Shrinkwrap Propaganda
Year : 1991
Country : US
Format : C90
The sequel no-one would have expected. Yes, five years after the original post comes a compendium of that very same band. One of those wishlist items I knew I had to buy when it popped up, it's now here for the enjoyment of a relative few. The title track of the tape I posted all those brief few years back is featured here, with the b-side absent. Still, a ton to chew into here. That very same collage heavy industrio-noise rock (not quite Godflesh) is there, with some surprising experimental passages here and there.

Lucien Suel - In Hymnis Et Canticis

Label : Rare Produx - No. 25
Country : France
Year : 1991
Format : C90
Furniture music, as per French neo-tradition. French-Canadian, maybe? The original issue of this first appeared on my radar when it was transiently archived on the tentatively run Noise-Arch on-line compen-dium. It was one of the exclusive and elusive members of the [IYD] tapes page, a section of the website that probably only I, in my most humble manner of being, had the outside knowledge of. It eluded the various caches and ambitious archives which sends out their little arachnids to parse whatever they can find. Unfortunately, I do not have much of the faintest memory of what "IYD" means or even stands for. Some more ephemera for the lot.
Anywho, the main dish as presented is here (I'll try to pare down on food comparisons, it really is a plague these days). The reason I exposited upon this meaningless little historie is to give a bit of perspective as to why I went and bought this thing. I do recall enjoying the little mp3 provided by the site, though obviously I had only listened to a portion of it. It seemed the avant-poetic folkisms were the primary instead of the utter secondary, but the concrete musics in sounds of washing hands and various amplified materials really take center stage. Call it like the Bernstein bears or whatever, I just have shit memory.

Die Welttraumforscher - Ein Sommer In Der Wirklichkeit

Label : Das Moniflabel - PP026
Country : Switzerland
Year : 1991
Format : LP
Ripped by Scramoutcha

Friends are becoming easier to come by, another guest rip. Via the slsk chat service I have been in correspondence with this fine fellow for the past few weeks, and we have reciprocated gifts with each other ever since. I've mentioned Die Welttraumforscher before in a post from the side gig called "Loon", where I briefly laid out my various admirations for the protjection.
Released in the early 90s on his own imprint, Christian (Pfluger) lays out rumsey in the feeling that lingers, to butcher a Bodycocktail tape title. Whimsical, great word. A cheatcode in description, a word which can describe (as descriptions ought) a myriad of ecstatic feeling without giving too much in the way of actual thought. Anyway, it is whimsical. On a whim, I can imagine, 'ol Weltschmerz cut this piece of plastic in a matter of a few afternoons. The synth melodies are pretty as ever, the minimalisms of which compound and impress upon the remote listener an appropriately dreamlike quality.
My supplier compared it to the latter nineties group Broadcast--"Tender Buttons" in specification--which I can definitely hear though very much stripped down and lowfidelity. Yes, yes, yes; less Romandie Stereolab and more... Well Swiss Die Welttraumforscher. Not much like it, doesn't take a world of dream researchers to find that out.

 Here
Comes with both the original rip and the declicked version, use either or both at your convenience.
(also, it's FLAC)

C.O.Y.C.A.M.I.I.K. - 0 = ∞ / Yü / Enthusiasm

A phantom post! Spectre of the night, time slipping into the dark recesses of, well, the night. Hard to tell sometimes. Here's a peculiar post for a peculiar time: a double feature for the bootleg platinum screen that is this blog. From one arbiter of illegal downloads to another, two ridiculously obscure tapes from one strange outfit from Philly-Delphi. I got this off a certain Russian torrent protocol, very slowly did it finally reach me. So I figured I'd cut out the front man and put the middle man in the spotlite, DDL is always there for you!

Anyway, this is pretty much a strange concoction of midi-classical compositions with some elements of noise, collage, industrial, and other such vapid, invented derivances (Is it "derivences"? Such variance). Kind of cheesy, but kind of cool, too. That's how I like it, most of the time at least. It's getting late so I'll cut to the chase and leave this pseudo-gonzostreamo to my slumber.
